If You Haven’t Seen Mk.Gee Yet, You’re Missing Out.

We drove up from Orlando to Atlanta just to see him in all his glory, and it was more than worth the 8-hour drive.

Only two weeks prior to Mk.Gee taking the stage on September 18th, 2024 at the Tabernacle Atlanta, was when a good friend of mine sent me the most recent record from the genius that is Mr. Michael Gordon’s, Two Star & The Dream Police. Shortly after hearing the lush and hypnotic sounds of songs like How many miles, and Little Bit More, I found myself on the Ticketmaster website, purchasing my tickets to see Mk.Gee in my nearest city, which happened to be 8 hours away.

The Vibe:

Experiencing this show with the first priority of being a concertgoer, you could feel the excitement from the start of line up to the encore. Mk.Gee, accompanied by Andrew Aged and Zack Sekoff, harbored an environment full of pure love for the music, reciprocated by everyone in the crowd.

The Show:

Hearing music live will always be slightly different from what you’d hear from digital or physical, but this show was just otherworldly. Being relatively new to the Mk.Gee world, I hadn’t experienced these songs to the point where I knew them in and out. Nothing can replicate the awe that was Two Star & The Dream Police live. I wish I had a time machine to replicate the feeling of arms crossed on the barricade, and stars in my eyes. Pure magic.

The Crowd:

My Orlando squad was first in line, followed by others who may be local to Atlanta, and some who drove hours from different parts of Georgia. I even got to see some friends from Central Florida in line! Mk.Gee has shown that he has a dedicated fanbase who are on fire for his unique sound. You could just feel the passion inside the Tabernacle. We even got to hear DNM four times! FOUR!!!

Wrap Up:

All I can think about is that one Instagram reel of that little boy who said “YOUSHOULDAWENT.” You really should’ve. If the opportunity arises for you to catch the dreamy and intricate sounds of Mk.Gee, you have to hop on it immediately. Take it from someone who barely knew him at the time of the show, you’ll have your mind blown
